Pom, pom-pom-pom pom, pom.

(to the tune of Land of Hope and Glory)
Thats right folks, we're in the sunny UK, land of old people and green lawns and funny names and minis and chips. Today we took a train into London to see what all the fuss was about, but not just any train. This train was a direct descnedant of HAL9000 (computer in 2001:Space Oddessy), to give you some idea of just how polite it was. The nicely british robotic voice constantly regailed us with pleasant and thoughtful reminders of what station was approaching, wether or not the buttons to open the door were activated yet, and that we should not leave our luggage unattended. This incredibly polite contraption was SO polite that if the station you are approaching happens to leave a small gap between the train and the platform, the train will notify you of the fact and remind you just before you disembark to beware and take care. This was one special train, but then it would want to be for the price of the tickets!
London was pretty nice, and we were lucky enought to happen across a rare (or maybe not so, but we like to think of ourselves as somehow special) opening of the Tower Bridge. Still puffed from the frantic scramble to get into camera range, we managed to squeeze in a breeze past the tower of London, a lap of St Pauls, a sneeze in the general direction of Trafalgar Square, a brisk trot past number ten and on through to Buckingham (the queen obviously where we left he in Canada), winding up somewhere in Hyde park looking somewhat worse for wear. Lets just say that a nice old man gave us ten cents and told us that he was sure things would pick up. We must have looked a trifle worn out.
Still, things here are just great. Tomorrow however, we are testing the limits of human endurance with a plan to ride from Reading to Windsor (just in case the Queen HAS made it back afterall and was simply avoiding us at Buckingham) on some bike kindly supplied by my Uncle and Auntie. This feat should get us in the Australia Day Honors list, if all goes well....

Well guvna's, good to see you've conceded your convict heritage and have made it back to the old country to visit the ancestor's traps. Don't bother with Bessie; head straight to the Old Bailey for some real connection! By the way, we went out with young PG on the new OCR last Saturday. Typical Gray, didn't even raise a sweat. This week I've got him, Richard W, SQL and a guy from Mt Eliza Bus School to mentor...well, maybe 'draft'... Oh well, if you hurry back Daniel, you can still put in enough work to join us on BAID. Ta-rah.
